I'M BACK!

After a lengthy delay with my blog posts, I AM BACK.
The past couple of weeks have been absolute bonkers, with assignments, tests, quizzes & birthday parties to attend to. So that sort of explains my break.
But I'm not going to drown you all with mindless complaining about how pathetic University is. Instead...I'll do a quick over view.
30th April: The night Felicia, Anna and I discovered THE nicest beer ever. I suggest you give Belgian Beer Cafe, in The Rocks a shot. In particuar order the Floris Apple beer. It tasted like sparklin apple juice. Simply delish!
1st May: CREAMFIELDS. It was a messy, messy afternoon with my ladies & a few familiar faces.
14th May: Dinner with the ladies. Never a dull moment with these females. "Family bog after the family box" LOLOL
16th May: My darling Zico's birthday. Good night spent with even better people. It was a night of constant shoe stepping on, intentional attempts to trip each other over, non-stop teasing & laughing. And who could forget the magic candles we fooled Zico with?

mail man brings MORE good news

Horrible quality once again.
<--I received a notice in the mail to go pick up a package at the post office. Little did I know it would contain such a surprise!
WE LOVE SOUNDS 2010!

Once I arrived home I saw a large envelope peaking through the letter box. I was greeted with this lovely little treat from my friends at Frankie! The model on this months issue is absolutely gorgeous! --->

Sydney Swans vs. West Coast Eagles starts in a short hour or so, hence the scarf. But my excitement is more directed towards the ANZAC day match between Magpies and Bombers tomorrow afternoon. I hope with all my might that it can some how top last years match intensity.

splendid

Splendour in the Grass, THE winter indie music festival to be seen at. Usually held in Byron Bay NSW, but due to overwhelming demand, it is going to be held up in QLD for 2010. I must admit, this line up is probably the most solid since the festival first began in 2001. Artists such as The Strokes, Mumford and Sons, Florence + the Machine, The Temper Trap, Pixies, Goldfrapp, The Vines, British India, Passion Pit, Lisa Mitchell, Tame Impala (and the list goes on), will be making an appearance in the notorious three day festival which provide camping grounds for a majority of the patrons.
My love for Splendour just grew 10 fold, but it's a shame I can't go. My heart broke when I realised it was over the weekend of one of my close girlfriends 21st, two of my boys' 22nd birthdays and an AFL game which we all have tickets for already.
Maybe next year. Fingers crossed the line up is as solid. (Please bring back Bloc Party!)

On the topic of all things festivals, I need to make a HUGE shoutout to Anna and AJ from UA for giving Felicia and I their free tickets to Creamfields. Both of them received two free tickets each and Felly and I were the lucky ones to make use of these free tickets! My excitement levels are about to burst through the ceiling with festival after gig after festival after gig lined up over the next 3-4 months.

Now moving onto something completely irrelevant to music, the Sydney Swans won their 3rd game in a row yesterday afternoon! An amazing performance by Dan 'the man' Hannebery in the second half (total of 28 possessions), major props to Goodesy as per usual. And of course, Jesse White for that mark on Lachie Hanson which was pivotal to the entire game.

Speaking of AFL, I best get back to finishing my readings before the Melbourne/Richmond game is televised!

you try to make me go to rehab..

I am very well aware that my blogging is probably on par with an unchanged diaper but the I guess the thought that I am blogging now is all that counts. Right?

Needless to say it has been a frantic year thus far.
I've started my new degree and have since decided my major, sub major and effectively, my potential career.
I've been in and out of rehabilitation and therapy for my severely damaged ankle resulting in a far too long a holiday from the dance scene.
And apparently, I am becoming wiser. Oh, yes. The dreaded wisdom teeth are coming through leaving me unable to eat for 3 days.
Somewhere in all of that I've found the time to celebrate a few birthdays, get drunk on a few occasions, go to the Sydney Swans' season opener for 2010 and save for the greatest winter festival, We Love Sounds. To add to my long list of upcoming events I must had THE TEMPER TRAP's gig on the 27th July. My excitement levels are reaching full capacity despite it being well over 100 days away.

But all in all, I think the best thing to come out of this year is the realisation that my friends are the strongest people alive, given all the adversity my groups faced since the turn of the decade.

Big Day Out

Big Day Out was ... pretty damn Big. Now I'm not one to gloat, but SUCKED IN TO THOSE WHO DIDN'T SNAG ONE OF THE 55 000 TICKETS FOR FRIDAYS BIG DAY OUT! Because it was nothing short of AMAZING.

The star studded line up was topped when Muse were announced to be headlining. One of my favourite bands of all time, not to mention the likes of Powderfinger, Lily Allen, The Temper Trap, Dizzee Rascal and Girl Talk. But then the forecasts were predicted to be an insanely hot, 40 degrees in the west, and as usual, Big Day Out is in the western suburbs. So Anna, Jono, Kenny, Shaun, Scott and I sweltered in the unbearable heat. On a couple of occassions Anna and I had to call it quits due to the intensity of the sun. But overall, THE DAY WAS FREAKIN HUGE!

stereosonic

Stereosonic was ... awesome without the awesome. So in other words it was fairly mediocre. I was moderately pleased with the set up, but whose fricking idea was it to put the Rocket stage right in between Hordern and RHI? It was almost impossible to enjoy the Rocket stage because you would be elbowed or pushed aside by people trying to get through.
The sound on the main stage was appalling. I struggled to hear the beats over the 30 odd thousand people screaming for their favourite acts. Sounds inside RHI were decent until Crookers came on. You would think that they would be using equipment suitable to handling such loud decibles of music, but no, Crookers managed to blow a speaker.
The heat inside RHI was unbearabe at some points. Breathing was a task which I struggled with (multiply this twice as I went to Stereosonic nursing a cold).
The drinks were all mid-strength ones at $10 a can. So I basically spent my day sober.
A part of me wishes the supposed riots outside RHI before Bloody Beetroots came on did occur. It woud have made for a much more interesting day.

I need...THREE BIG DAY OUT (FRIDAY) TICKETS.
So if anyone out there, is willing to swap these tickets, I will love you forever and ever and ever.

I have been forced to include the message (below). If you read any further & suffer from a loss of high amounts of IQ points, it will only be your own fault as I have warned you..

I think John.B is the best guy in the entire world for driving me home last night.
